I am a registered clinical psychologist based in Northcliff. I am passionate about helping people who are struggling with a variety of life's challenges ranging from general stress, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, to the aftermath of severe traumas and extending to various psychiatric conditions. I understand that often the decision to enter therapy and to share the experience of pain and stress can be extraordinarily challenging. I consider my style to be warm, gentle and highly supportive, helping clients identify their strengths and resources as we work together toward your healing. Each therapist and each client is unique, what matters is a good interpersonal fit. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in setting up an appointment to see if I would be the right fit for your needs. I offer late evening sessions (12 -7pm) as well as Saturday morning consultations (8am -12pm)
I am passionate about helping people of all ages who are struggling with a variety of life's challenges ranging from general stress, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, to the aftermath of severe traumas and extending to various psychiatric conditions. I understand that often the decision to enter therapy and to share the experience of pain and stress can be extraordinarily challenging. I consider my style to be warm, gentle and highly supportive, helping clients identify their strengths and resources as we work together toward your healing. I am interested in people who want to understand themselves and why they react to life as they do. Self and relationship exploration take courage, and I respect that. Therapy with me is a partnership for discovery of your own wisdom. Making that first call to a therapist takes real courage. But the rewards can be profound. In an environment of safety and collaboration one can gain deepened self-knowledge, a sense of being understood, and feelings of security and capability. The process of talking in a therapeutic setting is essential in cultivating self-awareness and obtaining the wisdom to make healthier choices. Positive changes occur when clients become aware of how past issues may influence current difficulties. Success in therapy occurs when you learn more about yourself, your thoughts, and your feelings. I aim to facilitate this process through an active, empathic, non-judgmental approach. I am however gentle with sore places, and support the confronting of stuck ones. When you feel ready, and feel safe enough, we work on the issues that need attention. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a powerful vehicle for change. While building a trusting connection, we will be able to work together to get you to a more balanced place. Therapy is a profound process of self-understanding, exploration and change. I work with patients in once weekly sessions and occasionally, on a more frequent basis, given my conviction that change requires a deep commitment to doing something different every day. Many of your emotional dilemmas with others will emerge in therapy sessions so that we can address them 'in person'. Each therapist and each client is unique, what matters is a good interpersonal fit.
