El Olam; is a camp and conference centre, just the place to hold a youth, school or church camp, get away with a larger group of people or hold a conference, or business planning session. Close to Durban and Pietermaritzburg we are ideally situated for your time away. Mission Our vision is to give quality accommodation and service at a reasonable cost. Description El Olam is ideal for church groups – youth, ladies, men’s and general church camps, also for school camps, training seminars and reunions. We also have a conference facility that is ideal for corporate team building, training and strategy workshops. Reasonable rates General information El Olam is ½ hour’s drive from Pietermaritzburg and one hour from Durban. El Olam is situated on Buckhaw-Brow Farm, a working cane and cut flower farm and has amazing scenic views of rolling cane field, especially the fiery sunsets. We can accommodate 100 people in basic dormitory style accommodation and 2 basic cottages that could be used for leaders or smaller groups. The conference room can hold up to 100 people and we are able to offer a data projector, white board, flip chart and overhead projector. We offer self-catering facilities, or we can cater for you. At El Olam there is so much that one can do for recreation – there is an obstacle course, a trampoline, walking, birding, fishing, volleyball, netball and a mini soccer field.
