Bafotech (Pty) Limited ("Bafotech"), previously known as Techkraft (Pty) Ltd, was established in 1981 by Frans and Chris Boone who were later joined by their brother, Pat, in 1990 as the Operations and Technical director. Pat is the current CEO, while Chris is Director of Marketing. Late 2005 Matantabelo Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd ("MIH") acquired 30% of Techkraft in a transaction that led to the name change. MIH is a company wholly owned by members of the Royal Bafokeng Nation, and is led by Lesedi Rakgokong as its major shareholder and Chairman.
