Nepid provides professional services in water resource development projects throughout sub-saharan Africa. Key areas of expertise include Environmental Project Management, baseline flora and fauna surveys, mitigation plans and environmental monitoring. The company focuses on the impacts of mining and dams on aquatic ecosystems.  Nepid has a large network of associates, and selects and coordinates multidisciplinary teams that are suited to the individual needs of each project, from small to large.

Nepid was founded in 2005 by Rob Palmer, who obtained his PhD (1992) in river ecology from Rhodes University, Grahamstown.  The company has a proven track record of providing consulting services mainly to mining and water resource sectors.  Project teams are selected from a large network of associated consultants to suit the needs of individual projects to ensure that the best people are contracted for the work at hand.
