Mr. C J Kotze originally started the business in 1948 in Moorreesburg, Western Cape, South Africa with the manufacturing of built-in-cupboards. During 1967 he re-located to Stutterheim, Easter Cape because of the shortage of labour, and also as a result of Government policies towards Border Industries. His son, C J Kotze, joined Mr. Kotze Snr in 1974, by which time Armscor was a big client for the manufacturing of ammunition boxes. The Transkei Saw Mill saw light in 1971 in order to make the company self-sufficient with regards to the supply of raw materials. The company was closed down in the nineties due to the lack of availability of logs and concession restrictions. Mr. Kotze Snr retired to the Western Cape in 1987 and a new CC., W P Timber Products CC was formed. In 2015 Mr. Thabo Vuyo Sikukula took over ownership of the business as the managing member.
