We trained practitioners for the National Reception Year Pilot Project in 1995 and as part of the ECD Consortium won the tender in KZN to conduct the nationwide audit of ECD provisioning for the European Union in 2000 Our work is focused in the impoverished, rural communities of the Umzinyathi district, where unemployment figures are high and the impact of HIV/Aids and TB is a reality in almost every home The Izingane Zethu Project partnership was in itself an acknowledgement of the pioneering type of work that we were undertaking in terms of developing accurate community databases, and their contribution to ECD for rural and deep rural children The organization has grown from a small, part time initiative, training 6 women in our first year, to a registered NPO training more than 300 women annually in 2009
LETCEE is very excited to announce that since the beginning of February 2019, we have a dedicated photographer to share our community projects with you! Twanet Coertze from T.K Photography has committed to spend at least two days a week with us, learning more about what we do and helping us to market our work in an appealing and vibrant way. She has been capturing beautiful moments and we are so excited to be able to show all our supporters exactly what is happening in our programmes.
