Owner and chef Janine Joubert has been in the hospitality industry since 1992, which is more than
20 years ago! After finishing her diploma at a well-known hotel school in Braamfontein, Johannesburg
she embarked on her own European catering adventure which included working at a variety of hotels, restaurants, chalets and yachts in England, Scotland, France and Turkey.
After two years abroad, experiencing every aspect of the hospitality industry, she returned to South Africa where she started working as a Sous Chef in Franschoek under the watchful eye of top chef Margo Janse. Hereafter she moved into the catering industry where she did large events with a very well-known catering company in Stellenbosch for 6 years. With all that experience there was no other way than to open up Lavender House Catering!
