She worked for MTN in South Africa setting up their strategy, policies, procedures and implementing and managing them for 10 years. The Expatriates grew from an initial number of 20 in 2 countries, to over 500 in 21 countries. Barbara was then head hunted by Lonmin Platinum to set up their Exploration Department managing over 150 people, including local staff in Tanzania and Gabon, as well as advising on Gold exploration staff on a project in Kenya, and the staff in Ireland and London, as well as managing Senior Managers and all staff in Exploration in South Africa.Hence, she has eperience in great revenue and profit generating telecomms,as well as in a capital cost intensive industry where no revenues are generated at all.
