Darling Weavers Basket Factory Unclaimed

Basket weaving has been undertaken in this small rural town for over 25 years employing local weavers. As with many small communities in South Africa, Darling has been adversely affected by the current economic climate and import competition and as a result, unemployment is high. It is therefore our major initiative to redevelop and utilise these skills to boost local employment especially amongst women who are often the sole income provider.We specialise in the manufacture of quality, handmade baskets to a wide variety of customers who require a better quality product compared to cheaper and often inferior imports. We boast an extensive national client base supplying to florists, nurseries, interior decorators, kitchen and cabinet makers, bakeries, shopfitters and the hospitality sector. Our products are available custom-made in a variety of colours in either natural or more durable materials.
