SATN - South African Technology Network, With the establishment of Public Administration Leadership and Management Academy (PALAMA) in 2008, the President of South Africa reiterated the critical importance of a specific agenda for continuing public service improvement and the urgent need for applicable public service training and management development. The President of our country also emphasised the significance of the involvement and collaboration of universities and the fact that their appropriate participation is critical to address these needs., The Department of Science and Technology has awarded six Tier One Research Chairs to TUT in 2012. Three of these are in the faculty of Science, two in Engineering and the Built Environment and one in Management Sciences. To respond to the Phase 2 call on the South African Research Chairs Initiative, the University is now inviting suitable candidates to fill these positions. These candidates will have to submit a full proposal including Curriculum Vitae to TUT by the 10 Apr 2012, UoT staff to please note that special approval and arrangements are being made through the different university councils to regard this conference as a local conference so that all relevant UoT staff can attend.(The institutional rules and regulations pertaining to international conferences will not apply)
