Hi there, my name is Kathy Ashwell. I have been teaching the guitar in Somerset West since 1984 (30 years!) and it continues to be my passion!
I offer guitar lessons for beginners to advanced students for all ages from 5 years to adults. My oldest student to date was 74 and loved playing his guitar!
Included in the course are: Rhythm Guitar, Fingerpicking Guitar, Basic Notation Reading, Tablature Reading, Chord Construction and Guitar Theory, Songs from the 50's up to today as well as Instrumentals, basic Blues and Blues Instrumentals. My big passion is Fingerpicking!
I teach both Private and Group Lessons.
My goal is to provide you with useful information about Music Matters. Music Matters has been offering guitar lessons since 1984. I specialize in group and private guitar lessons and provide a relaxed and happy environment in which students can be infected by my passion for the guitar and music and can thus become excellent guitarists!
