G.C.Tillage remains the first Farm Machinery company in the world to bring in to Africa the American Manufactured Big Ox Ripper and later the Hutchmaster series Disc Harrows that became famous in the early 1970’s. The original Big Ox that arrived in Durban aboard the Jesse Lykes 1970, stands on display, after its tour of duty all over Africa during the early 1970’s. It was a difficult time as the former WWII Veteran from Texas struggled with the Vietnam war back home already in its 11th year whilst trying to establish new business opportunities in Africa. The Family officially emigrated to the green hills of Hilton Natal in 1973 as the war ended back Home.
