Kyokushin Karate - Gentle Giants Unclaimed

Kyokushin karate has been in operation for more than 50 years.Kyokushin originated in Okinawa Japan and was founded by Matsui Oyama. Matsui was a student of Goju Ryu karate founded in China however he modified most of Goju Ryu syllabus to form Kyokushin. Kyokushin is known universally as "the strongest karate" and its hard training regime is very characteristic of the style. the tournament rules are "knock out" or full contact. this doesn't mean that the opponent has to be out cold, on the floor. even the display of pain and defeat qualifies as a "knock out". we incorporate weapons training and tamasuwari (board and tile breaking) as part of our syllabus. over all Kyokushin is one of the best karate styles and amongst people that are familiar with the sport, Kyokushin is distinguished as a style of its own and is revered and held very high amongst karateka (students) from all different styles. besides discipline and self control, Kyokushin will teach you humility and self preservation.
