10 000 microdots are applied to specified locations on a vehicle by means of our patented “Spray-on Technology” system. These locations include original manufacturer V.I.N. markings, body shell as well as key engine and suspension components. The number of fitment locations is dependent on the needs of the client as well as the type of vehicle. Microdots are detected by exposing areas of the vehicle to ultra-violet lighting which will illuminate “contaminated” locations, allowing authorities to remove microdots and view the information it contains. Because of the sheer number of microdots applied to the vehicle and the unique information reflected on them it becomes virtually impossible to completely rid a stolen vehicle or its tradable components of its original identity. When microdots are found by the SAPS or other law enforcement agency, it gives them a starting point in the audit trail. Normal SAPS investigation however still needs to be done.
