Assmang Limited is a company incorporated in the Republic of South Africa to supply raw material to the world's steel mills and alloy plants Assmang Limited, a mining company of South Africa aims to expand its iron ore production to 16.5 Mill tons per annum by June, 2013 Assmang Limited was originally named The Associated Manganese Mines of South Africa Limited; it changed its name 30 May 2001

Assmang exports from four of the eight commercial ports on the 2954km South African coastline. These ports are all controlled and managed by Transnet National Ports Authority, a division of the government owned Transnet Limited. Transnet Port Terminals, another Transnet business unit, provides the cargo handling and logistics services to the ports. Assmang also exports via the Port of Maputo, in Mozambique.
