"Arbor" is Latin for tree and the word chosen for Arbor Primary on a number of accounts. Surrounded by streets named after trees, the school crest has a tree growing out of a mine dump symbolizing the beginning of the town Benoni and the subsequent growth in education. The branches of the tree symbolize the unity of purpose. Three branches are used to remember the three schools that provided Arbor Primary with learners when it first started, namely Benoni West, Rynfield and Tom Newby Primary.
