Grab a drink at the bar, find a seat and get chatting to the otherSalsa-Holics. You will know when we are about to start as one of the appointedinstructors will be calling you to join in. The instructors will teach the 1st halfof a routine and then all dance to a song, with a break for 5 minutes. Afterthe break the 2nd half of the routine is taught and danced/practiced to anothersong. To end - we have a warm down song (old and new students are expected tojoin in). We then encourage the students to stay after the class, practice andenjoy the Salsa Rhythms. What to Wear:To start off with it is not necessary to go out and buy danceshoes, but just to let you know - rubber soles e.g. takkies are not advised asyou tend to stick to the floor. Office work shoes for men go down well and forthe ladies a bit of a heel helps you into your turns. Ladies - please Do Notwear loose sandals or flip flops. Dress is Smart/Casual.When to move up:Level 1: BeginnersYou must have completed 4 to 5 beginner lessons, before movingon to level 2. You also need to practice the moves after classes. With nopractice, you will not improve. After class, turn to the first person you seeand ask them for a dance. Once you are completely comfortable with the basicSalsa steps and turns, you may move on to level 2. Level 2: ImproversImprovers is a very important class. Here you learn the startermoves to the advance moves, giving you the best foundation to be a greatadvanced dancer. So don’t rush this class, stick it out! In this class we havea 7 week syllabus, which you need to have completed the syllabus 3 times beforeeven considering moving to the next class. Here it is always advised toask your instructor if they think you are ready to move up another level.Level 3: Intermediate/Advanced In this level, we teach you new sequences every week, giving younew ideas to put into your dancing. You are not expected to remember everything, but make sure you take away one new move, and practice it after classand try to implement it at the next Salsa Party.HNS
