Description/Remarks
<!-- business info --> Anansi Park, a new development of retail and office space in the heart of Durbanville, was officially opened to the public on 21 July 2008. The building, which has attracted much interest from both public and business, and houses an enviable tenant mix, reflects and complements the architectural heritage of Durbanville (Western Cape Province, South Africa). The developers, Anansi Investment Trust, ambition was to develop the site subject to only one condition - the end result had to be attractive. The developers wanted the development to complement Durbanville’s original buildings, and Gordon’s Bay architect Jacques du Toit was appointed for the job. Du Toit studied the town’s existing old buildings, as well as photos of original buildings that have since been demolished, and largely used the architectural design of the Kings and Queens Cottages in Church Street as a frame of reference. Brothers Anton and Adriaan Heydenrych, the appointed builders and project managers, began work on the site in September 2007. Quality was the primary consideration throughout the project with only the best and most durable materials being used.<!-- /business info -->
