The resort borders a pristine nature reserve where one can expect to see a variety of wildlife including Bush Buck and Duiker. The lush vegetation and close proximity to the water means avid bird watchers will be delighted by the numerous bird species. Well equipped Chalets offer a home-from-home experience. Linen, excluding towels, is supplied. Accommodation ranges from open-plan river side cabanas, to comfortable well-equipped chalets, to deluxe sea view accommodation. The tranquil setting also boasts shady, level caravan and camping sites with 3 ablution facilities, scullery and a laundry. Palm Springs is within close proximity to East London, the gateway to the Wild Coast and the only river port in South Africa. One can visit Mgwali Village, the oldest village in the Eastern Cape and experience true Xhosa hospitality. Other interesting places to visit include Hood Point Lighthouse, the Lion Park, the Aquarium, Queens Park Zoo and the Botanical Gardens. Palm Springs is situated just 3 km’s from Kidd’s Beach. For the water enthusiasts, the Umlele River is home to an abundance of fish species, making it a haven for anglers as well as a safe secure area for children to swim. Bring along your canoe for travel excursions on the river, or take a leisurely stroll on the beach which is within walking distance of the resort. The emphasis is on peace and tranquility and we therefore do not allow music and loud noise of any type at any time on the resort.
