About company

Year Establish : 2013

The Hospitality and Tourism College (THTC) is a private tertiary education provider situated in Morningside, Durban. THTC is proud to have obtained training centre approval for national and internationally accredited courses, specialising primarily in the fields of Hospitality and Tourism, together with a number of accredited skills courses, with CATHSSETA and City & Guilds.
The Hospitality and Tourism College focuses on enrolling small classes, ensuring “one-on-one” learning, which encourages the development of the individual and creates personalized relationships between students and lecturers. Students benefit from individual support and personal attention, resulting in career development to meet current industry requirements and personal aspirations.
Our formal qualifications can launch prospective employee careers, while enhancing additional skills to those employees who are currently employed within these industries.
Our lecturers have the relevant qualifications in regard to their field of expertise and are Registered Assessors, with more than 15 years’ experience respectively in their individual fields. Our Tourism Lecturer, Ms Penny Jordaan is a well-known tourism lecturer with over 18 years lecturing experience within the FET College system, as well as industry-related experience. Ms Loraine Sharkey has over 20 years teaching and business experience within the Hospitality field, as well as being the owner of 2 successful operating businesses – Serve Pro Training & Placement and Serve Pro Mobile Waiter & Bartender Services (www.servepro.co.za)

The Hospitality and Tourism College is fortunate in having secured highly qualified support lecturers in their respective fields – Galileo, Fares, ICDL, Barista and First-aid providers, thereby providing additional value and support to current course structures.

To meet the required in-service element of these courses, THTC has secured opportunities for the students to work within prominent establishments, subsequently enabling our students to gain the utmost exposure and on-job training, resulting in their being “work-ready” on completion of their courses.

Please view our web page www.thtc.co.za, for a complete overview of all courses available, course structure, content, college resources, lecturer experience and accreditation documents.
