The Clothing Bank’s vision is to “empower unemployed mothers through enterprise development” with the objective of helping them become financially and socially independent We have established a strategic partnership with many of South Africa’s leading clothing retailers who donate all of their excess clothing to The Clothing Bank We believe that our model is unique in its holistic approach as it combines practical appropriate training with life skills, coaching and mentoring to develop self confidence and the opportunity to practice and hone their skills in a real business in our 24month programme We use this clothing as a vital tool in our Enterprise Development Programme to teach women how to run small retail trading businesses
We believe that becoming a self-employed business owner is something everyone can do, irrespective of their education levels and resources, as long as they are self-motivated and well supported (mentally and emotionally). We have developed a holistic eco-system, which successfully engages families living in poverty to chart a path out of poverty. Our projects have been changing lives for the last eight years.
