Year Establish : 2014

Sports therapy is about the management of sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions in both athletes and non-athletes alike. I provide thorough assessments, treatment, sports specific rehabilitation and injury prevention

I graduated from the University of Central Lancashire, North England, I have been living and studying in the UK for 6 years. I am now back in South Africa since 2012 to pursue my passion and career.

I help people with any type of muscle related issues, I use a combination of sports massage, stretches, strength exercises and taping techniques to guide your muscles back to a healthy normal state.
I offer treatments that work to strengthen weakened muscles, increased flexibility, also improved cardiovascular and respiratory function, while also striving to find and treat the root cause of the problem.

I help many endurance sports people with their strength training especially core stability and Glute strengthening to help them improve their strength, performance and to prevent injury.

Prior to this I worked for a semi-professional football club doing pitch-side first aid and rehabilitation, including work with the Perth U/18 Rugby team in Scotland and a Professional Youth Scottish football team, Dunfermline Athletic.
During my time off, I enjoy trail running, cycling, hiking, and have competed in many triathlons over the last few years.

I have worked at the Absa Cape Epic mountain bike challenge the last 2 years including the African-X 3 day trail run & I have worked & travelled on number of cycle tours with the Day Trippers.

Recommended Reviews for Exercise Therapy

I went to Raasay on the recommendation of a friend which is always my preferred way to be introduced to a new therapist. I was not disappointed!! I am a dancer and a runner and needed help fast to rehabilitate extremely painful shin splints before a half marathon and demanding dance performance. Raasay is knowledgeable and professional and it is evident that she has a wealth of experience in treating multiple kinds of injuries. She is also a sportswoman herself so there is an inherent trust in her ability. Her knowledge of the body and it's mechanisms is a joy to observe. After 2 treatments and following her advice regarding daily strengthening exercises, foam rolling and icing over a 3 week period, I was able to run 26km without pain. I don't need to tell other sportspeople or dancers out there what it means to be able to do what you love. Gratitude is an understatement. Added to her expertise, Raasay is warm, friendly and kind. I recommend her highly.

Raasay of Exercise Therapy assessed and treated me regularly over a period of 12 months for a debilitating frozen shoulder. The treatment I received was a ray of light in the wilderness of pain I was enduring. The focus and care I received was the best I have ever experienced. I will first go to Raasay for any treatment for muscles and tendons before anyone else because she understands ones body mechanics without being pedantic or coming across as a "know it all". I have referred friends to her and they share my sentiment. Exercise Therapy has been key to my full recovery and continued pain free ramblings up mountains, kayaking down rivers and surfing the waves..not to mention the mountain bike. I will recommend Exercise Therapy before any machine blinded registered physiotherapists...the power lies in the hands and the clear focused mind behind the hands...thank you Raasay

I went to Raasay about 9 months ago with shoulder and achilles issues. She has done wonders on both of these areas. I have been delighted with all she has done for me.
