Due to technology and the internet in particular, the volume of text captured by the eye and decoded by the brain each day has increased at an incredible rate, and it continues to do so. Studies suggest that this daily bombardment of text has led to a general drop in human concentration levels. Such a drop in concentration levels may in part be responsible for two common problems; the first being poor grammar, and the second, that poor grammar goes unnoticed and uncorrected. Incorrect use of language and/or grammar cast a negative and unprofessional light on the name of a business. Regardless of a business’ size or area of expertise, language and grammar errors have a damaging impact on a person’s opinion of how professional the business is and how well it can be trusted.
