Alex Wiid is an artist and amateur photographer, selling original South African artwork and photography on www.alexwiid.co.za . For work that has already been sold, Alex is willing to take on commissions.Alex Wiid's work explores many subjects from social-political commentary to the celebration of African landscapes. Her artwork is very diverse and her mediums consist of oil-on-canvas, pastel, pen and mix-media relief sculpture.Alex has been an artist for most of her life and her vested interest in culture and the nature of man-kind  is portrayed in her artwork and photography. Alex has a degree in Economics and Politics  from UCT and her a fascination with nature shows its influence in subject matter that depicts people and their environment, sometimes with a satirical undertone but more often with an allusion to her love for nature.

 I am excited and fascinated by design and the role this plays in our society and I have a great interest in the development of South Africa and how design can improve the lives of people in both a rural and urban sphere. I am also very passionate about nature and the idea of designing mutually beneficial spaces for humans and the environment. I am an artist and a photographer as well as an enthusiastic gardener and cook.
