Moth Dawn Patrol Shellhole Unclaimed

The Memorable Order Of Tin Hats (M.O.T.H ) was founded in 1927 by Charles Evenden as a brotherhood of former front-line soldiers. In the Western Cape area there currently 14 Moth Shellholes ( Clubs ) of which Dawn Patrol is the largest with the current membership of 108 and 56 Friends of the Shellhole. After the second world war, low-cost housing was allocated in the Bergvliet area to men and women returning from the campaign, it was just a matter of time before a Shell Hole would be formed. About this time the baby boom arrived and dads would be seen pushing prams around the neighbourhood in the mornings so that moms could have a break, hence the name Dawn Patrol
Dawn Patrol is a recreational hall with a hole in the wall where the community are able to hire the facilities for weddings or other functions. During the day ladies fitness classes, dancing, drama and karate classes take place
